"I stared into the Abyss, and it laughed back."
Name: Blood Red
Alias: Monarch of the Varganos | Keeper of the Gates
Age: Indeterminate
Sex: Female
Weight: 200lbs
Height: 41 inches
Sub-species: C. Lamia
Appearance: Blood Red is a massive she-wolf, with a weight and frame to match. Lumbering over most wolves, this black and red she-wolf stares down with piercing green eyes and an uneven grin. Despite her lips being black, her tongue and gums hold the same bright green coloration as her eyes. Due to her birthplace being high in the mountains, her fur has grown out in several places, such as her chest and underbelly as well as her on her elbows. She has a thick mane that stands spiked up. One of the reasons she changed her name to Blood Red is due to the colors of her pelt, for it looks like she been splattered and walked through the blood of the beasts.
Rank: Monarch
Pack: --
Specialty: Physical | Magic
Elemental Affinity: Darkness | Fire
Personality: Blood Red combines a commitment to oppose the morally-wrong with the discipline to fight relentlessly. She tells the truth, keeps her word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. She hates to see the guilty go unpunished. While strict in her prosecution of law and order, she follow these precepts to improve the common wealth. Certain freedoms must, of course, be sacrificed in order to bring order; but truth is of highest value, and law is of great importance. The benefits of this society are to be brought to all. She view the cosmos with varying degrees of lawfulness or desire for good. She is convinced that order and law are absolutely necessary to assure good, and that good is best defined as whatever brings the most benefit to the greater number of decent, thinking creatures and the least woe to the rest.
She believes that an orderly, strong society with a well-organized system of control can work to make life better for the majority of the creatures. To ensure the quality of life, laws must be created and obeyed. When beings respect the laws and try to help one another, society as a whole prospers. She strives for those things that will bring the greatest benefit to the most people and cause the least harm.
Blood Red has a very strong moral character. Truth, honor, and the welfare of others is all-important. She is thoroughly convinced that order and laws are absolutely necessary to assure that stability prevails. She will not lie to or cheat anyone, regardless of their morals. She does not stand for treachery and will not let obviously dishonorable wolves use her own honor against her, if she can help it. She obeys the laws and customs of the areas that she enters into, but will attempt to find loopholes to disobey a law which is clearly unjust.
Even though she's lived a fairly solitary life for the longest time, she is group and order oriented, and will cooperate with authority in all cases to promote the common wealth. She promotes the ideals and rights of the majority over those of the individual (and this includes herself as well as others) and upholds the rights of the weak and oppressed members of society, who should be allowed to reap society's benefits with equanimity. Blood Red feels this is the best way that all members of society can enjoy the rights of existence together. Life is important to her being, but life is not exclusive of order, and vice versa.
She kills whenever necessary to promote the greater good, or to protect herself, her companions, or anyone whom she's vowed to defend. In times of war, she strikes down the enemies of her nation. She does not interfere with a legal execution, so long as the punishment fits the crime. Otherwise, Blood Red avoids killing whenever possible. She does not kill a person who is merely suspected of a crime, nor does she necessarily kill someone she perceives to be a threat unless she has tangible evidence or certain knowledge of evildoing. She never kills for treasure or personal gain and she never knowingly kills an innocent being.
She will keep her word if she gives it and will never lie. She will never attack an unarmed foe and will never harm an innocent. She will not use torture to extract information or for pleasure. She never kills for pleasure, only in self-defense or in the defense of others. She finds the use of poison to be disgusting and beneath her. She will help those in need and she prefers to work with others. She responds well to higher authority, is trustful of organizations, and will always follow the law. She will never betray a family member, comrade, or friend, though she will attempt to bring an immoral or law-breaking friend to justice, in order to rehabilitate that person. She highly respects the concepts of self-discipline and honor.
Likes: Blood Red likes an orderly, strong society with a well-organized system of control. She likes to bring wrong-doers and law-breakers to justice, regardless of what it takes. She likes to work in groups, small or large it doesn't matter, and as such prefers and enjoys the company of trusted friends. She likes the feeling of completing a promise and keeping one's word. She likes to trust and be able to trust the leaders in control, and in turn be able to fully lend her support of their systems.
Dislikes: She hates to see the guilty go unpunished. She hates liars, cheaters and traitors, and she hates it just as much when some one attempts to lie, cheat or betray her. While in the physical realm she tries her best to respect the pack Alphas, leaving them to handle situations that fall under their jurisdiction, anything that falls outside of their rule, however, she takes upon herself to deal with. In this regard, she may chase the loathsome creatures that escape the underworld and return them, something that she finds tedious and distasteful at times.
Fear: Maximum entropy is a great fear of Blood Red's. Even though her master is everything she stands against, she still knows in her heart that guarding the passage back and forth to the underworld is something that helps to bring great stability to all of creation. The Void is the exact representation of maximum entropy, and it greatly pains her that she must let him remain in order to continue guarding the underworld. She greatly fears that one day he might truly set loose upon the world and destroy all that is ordered and good.
Motivation: Blood Red dreams of bringing law, order and stability to every corner of creation. Any wealth or knowledge she gains she wishes to spread and share amongst all life in order to help those in need. One day, even though she know it as necessary that it never happen, she wishes to see the Void calmed down and possibly even removed from his seat of great power so that he can never again disrupt the stability and peace of the Beasts.

Background:
BLOODRED’S SAGA
Many winters ago, there was a pup that was born. She was called Bushtail, for her tail was thick and bushy. She was a strong wolf, and she carried with her a great deal of honor, and it was that honor that carried her through all her trials as she grew. She was one of the first wolves born after the first creation of the wolves by the spirits, and she was strong and filled with many magics because of this. As a young pup, the few other wolves that were around did not enjoy playing with her, for her large tail would get in the way of their climbing games. Now, in this time all wolves took mates and had pups for there were no packs, and so she came to her parents and asked them why she had such a bushy tail, and her mother responded, “Because, you were born under a bush and the innate form of the plant was given to you.”
As she grew older she noticed that the males had started to enjoy her big tail, for they had called it bountiful in the fleeting moments that she could hear them whisper about her. In time, she became a great warrior, and she was known throughout the area for her honor in battle. In time, she was called Honored-one, for she would never go back on her word, and she would never defeat a defenseless wolf. Honored-one eventually found herself facing a crazed, lone wolf that had been missing for many years. He had gone feral since then, having completely lost his mind to the loneliness that he must have faced by being gone, but he was so different.
He lunged at her as she tried to comfort him, and she fought him off. He then stopped breathing, and he fell over. He let out a massive whine, and she watched as the poor beast’s life faded from his eyes. She went forward, ready to aid him, but she felt a massive pain coming from her neck as she came forward, it was so great that she fell over from the sheer force of it. She struggled, trying to move, trying to make a noise, but she couldn’t, the pain was spreading from her neck throughout her whole body. As she lay there, her mind slowed, and seconds became years. For her, entire lifetimes went by as she lay there, her mind escaping and returning as her body strained from the effects of the transformation. As she lay there, she saw that the wolf did not die, and that he walked around her and howled three times around her corpse as she lay there.
Two days later, she arose. Her body large, twisted, her mind mostly gone after it had returned again. She looked around and she let out a massive, soul shattering howl that would make even the mightiest beast flee in terror. She stared around, and she saw the wolf that bit her. Thinking only of pain, and having no thought for herself or who she was, she slew the wolf where he stood. Barely rational, she started on instinct, walking towards what seemed familiar after so long. As she walked, others fled from her presence, as she had grown to be the largest of her kind. She turned and stared, and there she saw her pack, but her pack did not know it was her. Her mind did not know it was them, but her heart did, and so she went to them. But they were frightful, for to them a great beast had come to them. The warriors stood their ground, and lunged at her, and her heart broke as they did so, and her mind, ravaged by time, struck out at them, and they all fell around her as she effortlessly took them down.
As they lay before her, broken and dying, the Void spoke to her. He told her that she was strong, and that she should come to work for him, and guard the spirits of the dead so that they might never leave where they should remain. In her half crazed state of mind, she gave her word that she would forever guard the gates of Valhalla, shiny and chrome from those that would ever wish to leave. As she was there, she slowly regained her mind, and she learned of what she had done. She wanted to leave, for she did not wish to serve the Void, but she had given her word, so she was honor bound to remain.
In time, the Void grew displeased with her. For he had had chosen her after witnessing her great brutal savagery. But this Blood Red was nowhere near the monster that he had originally seen. In his displeasure, he sent kidnapped a young wolf pup and he started to feed it his own essence. He grew larger and larger as the years went by, and in time this wolf became larger than Blood Red, and so the Void named him Fenris, and he sent the great wolf to fight Blood Red so that he might take over her position.
He came to her, and in his savagery he let out a fearsome roar and lunged at her, but Blood Red had the advantage in that she had the ability to rationalize, and to think. So she was able to outsmart him and take him down easily enough, though she did sustain several injuries. After Fenris was sent away from her, she was going to focus her attention on rebuilding the gates, for the gates had been destroyed in the fight. When a cocky wolf named Redfang came up to her, and attacked her wounds, causing her to yelp in pain, and in the confusion he managed to escape. This greatly angered her, for she had given her word that she would forever protect this place and keep wolves from escaping, but she also wanted to fight him for he had fought without honor.
In this, she created the Hellhounds, for they would hunt down Redfang for her, as she had matters to attend to with the rebuilding of Valhalla, the chrome had to be buffed. She took from the Void darkness, and wrapped it in fire, molding into the shape of a wolf. From this, the Hellhounds were born. And so they went, trailing fire and shadow as they would forever chase Redfang and bring him to justice for his dishonorable ways.
And so it was, that every moon without fail the Void would send stronger and stronger beasts, each mindless and cruel, for that is what he wished in his Guardian of the Damned, and it was for that very reason that they would all fail against Blood Red’s might and guile. And it was so, that during these fights, the spirits would escape and leave to become Silverbloods, and in time they would all be caught by the Hellhounds, and in return they would be returned where they would belong. There was only ever one wolf that managed to escape while there was no challenger fighting her, and his name was Shadow-Heart.
